CSI Initiatives

Lebowa Primary School

On 21 June 2016 KWS arranged for a mobile dentistry unit in conjunction with the Department of Education to inspect the teeth, wash them and give a report to parents.

On 18 July 2016 KWS donated paint to the school and spent the day painting the school together with the parent volunteers. We also made and served all the pupils lunch packs.

In May 2016 the principal requested our assistance in fixing their library. They had a very unfriendly room full of dusty books that were in a language that the children at the school don’t understand. We tiled the room, painted it, installed shelves, arranged for books for the Emfuleni Library. We furnished the library with chairs and ottomans. We also donated a used laptop for use in the library.

We had an opening ceremony which was attended by the school governing body, a representative from the Department of Education, VUT FM (the library was discussed on VUT FM and the principal and KWS FD were interviewed).

Emfuleni Child and Youth Care Centre

Emfuleni Child and Youth Care Centre in Vanderbijl Park is a home for destitute and abandoned boys. They have 11 boys between the ages of 9 and 17. KWS bought the home a stove, donated food vouchers to the value of R20k and bought the boys winter clothes and shoes. We also donated bedding for their sick bay.
